Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Herein, I document my adventures in various casinos. Hope you have a nice stay!

Vegas February 2020 Day 2

I must say that the bed and pillows in the room at Nobu we’re amazing - like being surrounded by a cumulus cloud.

I showered in the spacious shower, which could accommodate a few people, although it was just me.

I wanted to cash in a $50 cash voucher I had after betting at the sports book kiosk yesterday so I made my way to the cafe. Upon getting to the window, the cashier informed me that I could only redeem the voucher at the sports book window. So, I ventured over to the sports book and the line to bet and/or redeem vouchers was Sisyphean. I guess I will cash it in later this trip. Right behind the end of the line were the reserved “bleacher seats” for the Super Bowl viewing party (yes, Caesars, as a corporate sponsor of the Super Bowl, is licensed to use “Super Bowl” in their advertising instead of “The Big Game”). This is what $250 gets you:

————————————-Starbucks rant:

I'll never understand why an entire family needs to wait in line at Starubucks, four of their kids wandering throughout the line with every family member spread out taking up the length of a football field

There were two women in front of me, a mother and daughter approximately 75 and 50 years old, respectively. The daughter sneezed twice and the mother asked if she was getting sick. The daughter replied that she did not believe so, to which the mother retorted: “Well, you never know what diseases people have in a casino…just look at the guy behind us.” What the F‽ Do I look diseased???————————————-

I decided to stretch my legs and take a walk down the strip before the Super Bowl:

I watched the Super Bowl from the quiet comfort of my hotel room, my bets being $50 under 54 total points and $50 for the 49’s to win outright, while Tweeting my thoughts on a few things during the game:

So, I won the under 54 total points bet but lost the 49’s to win bet - basically breaking even on the game - not too bad, considering my sports bets are usually automatic losers 😂

Feeling the pangs of hunger, I left Caesars and headed to a favorite restaurant of mine, Lemongrass (inside Aria).

Upon exiting Caesars I was met with strong gusts of wind, what a change from a windless afternoon.

I made my way through Bellagio, stopping at the conservatory:

Then on to Aria:

I was welcomed at Lemongrass by a bartender I have become friendly with over the years - we caught up with one another and then my sesame chicken arrived.

Feeling fully satiated, I made my through Crystals and back down the strip to Caesars, passing the Bellagio Fountains on my way:

Upon returning to my room, I noticed that housekeeping performed turn down service and left me a postcard with tomorrow’s weather forecast handwritten on it. Also, just like last trip, the remote control for the television ceased working. I called the front desk and they brought a new one up - nothing like a fresh remote control.

As I am still a bit jet-lagged, I am going to relax in the room and call it a night.

A new day awaits tomorrow.
