Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Herein, I document my adventures in various casinos. Hope you have a nice stay!

Vegas February 2020 Day 3

I woke up and got ready for the day with a venti iced cold brew with sugar free vanilla syrup and a double smoked bacon sandwich from Starbucks (no venting today lol).

I then made my way to the Caesars sports book to cash in my $50 voucher and winning ticket on the under.

Headed out into the crisp winter air of Vegas to the Cromwell and bellied up to a $100 minimum game in the high limit room - here is how it went down:

Hand 1: 5,5 v dealer 6 - double and dealt a King - dealer turns over a 5 and deals herself a 10 for 21 - dealer then smiles and says “Oopsie!”

Hand 2: 9,2 v dealer 10 - double and dealt a 5 for 16 - dealer turns over a 7 - dealer smiles and again says “Oopsie!”

Hand 3: 7,4 v dealer 2 - double and dealt a 2 for 13 - dealer turns over an Ace then draws a 5 for 18 - dealer smiles and, yet again, says “Oopsie”

Hand 4: 6,3 v dealer 4 - double and dealt an Ace for 20 - dealer turns over a 6 then draws another 6 then draw a 7 for 21 - dealer smiles and, yet again, says “Oopsie”

Hand 5: 2,7 v dealer 6 - double and dealt a 3 for 12 - dealer turns over an Ace - dealer smiles and, yet again, says “Oopsie”

GOODBYE OOPSIE! I got up from the table - the first 5 hands of this trip were all doubles and I lost every single one of them

WTF?!?

Trip -1k

I left the table, refusing to go on tilt when my blackjack playing was just beginning for the trip and, luckily, LuckysLasVegas texted me informing me he was in the area. We traded some blackjack stories and walked the Strip:

After giving Lucky a tour of the Nobu hotel room (which I believe is now #LuckyApproved), I relaxed for a bit. I ventured out into the now-Arctic Vegas weather by walking to Bellagio, taking the tram to Crystals and then walking over the bridge to Planet Hollywood where I purchased a cold brew coffee to sustain my endurance for the evening’s gambling.

I entered the high limit pit at Planet Hollywood and, just as I was about to sit down at a blackjack table, an obnoxious guy at the table got dealt a blackjack, stood up and screamed "WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER" -- I immediately left the pit‬.

After leaving Planet Hollywood I perambulated through Paris:

I then made my way through Bally’s, which appears to exist in a temporal anomaly where people walking in front of me cannot walk at a normal pace, and onwards to the Flamingo, where I decided to sit a spell in the high limit room.

I bought in at a 6 deck game and my first hand, naturally, was a double down:

5,5 v dealer 9 — I doubled and, lo and behold, was dealt an Ace (would things be different this time around?) while the dealer turned over another 9 for 18

YES!

I ended up capitalizing on that first hand and, halfway through the shoe, had regained the 1k I had so unceremoniously lost this morning.

Trip is even.

Dinner was to be had at Searsucker inside Caesars Palace as I have always enjoyed the burger here but have not sidled up to the bar service in quite some time to enjoy one.

Fully satiated, I lapsed into a food coma upon heading back to my room. That is going to be it for today as I relax, splayed our on the couch watching a King of Queens marathon. More Vegas awaits tomorrow.
