Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Herein, I document my adventures in various casinos. Hope you have a nice stay!

Vegas October 2020 Day 2

After falling asleep to the sweet dance moves of Crispin Glover in Friday the 13th Part IV last night, I woke up a few minutes prior to the clock striking 7, raised my weary head off the pillow and decided to seize the day.

I showered, got ready and headed over to The Linq promenade for some much required caffeine in the form of the roasted cocoa bean.

The line at Starbucks moved quickly and a few moments later I wandered over to the wildlife habitat at the Flamingo.

The photo of the memorial brick at the top of this blog was on the pathway of the wildlife habitat. In a year full of turmoil, it struck me that, indeed, we are all related. It is important to remember that, regardless of politics, religion, income, abilities/disabilities and overall philosophy of life, we are all humans here on this pale blue dot going from day-to-day doing the best we can to live a happy life and we should, from time to time, reflect on that and try to make the world a better place.

I then sat down to a Triple Diamond slot machine at The Cromwell and loaded in $50 in FSP. Over the course of 17 spins at $3/spin, the only win I had was $3 for a cherry. Talk about a cold machine.

While waiting outside of The Cromwell for Lucky and Detroit to grab some lunch, a woman wearing black spandex shorts and a low cut top approached me. Finally, my first hooker of the trip. She introduced herself and asked what I was up to - I told her I was about to go to lunch. She smiled as she replied “Oh, I just got into town and about to check-in and play some slots” — really, you are checking in with no luggage, not even a carry-on bag? She then asked if I wouldn’t like to skip lunch and play some slots with her. I smiled, bemused at her apparent belief that I had no clue she was a hooker, and informed her that I was too hungry to play slots and wished her good luck.

We ended up out at the Aliante casino which was very nice - the lighting was dim and relaxing and we enjoyed lunch (which was actually breakfast since we all ordered breakfast items).

Upon arriving back at The Cromwell I sauntered over to the High Limit room to, as Teddy KGB says, play some cards.

I sat down to the same 6D game as last night and, within 10 hands, no fuss no muss, I had secured another $1k.

Trip is +$2273

The dealer was shocked I got up and left - I told her I’ve played this game too long to know how quickly the cards can change.

I then headed over to the “Cash Machine” slot and loaded in $50 FSP - had 5 spins at $10/spin and did not have one hit. I have $300 FSP remaining.

I wanted to get some shirts so I ordered a Lyft. While waiting for the Lyft, a well-dressed guy in his mid-20s was standing outside Flamingo shouting about how humans are the slaves of aliens - he was basically giving an economic dissertation about it - I’m now a believer.

However, the excitement did not end there while I marked time waiting for the Lyft. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a woman with tattoos and purple hair and, thinking it was Cinnamon, I took the chance and said “Hey!” She looked at me, perplexed as to who I was until I said “It’s Epic” - she then smiled and we laughed at how random it was - she told me of her incident at Bally’s (I will leave that story to her to tell).

I saw this during the ride:

My Lyft then showed up and we parted ways. I purchased a few shirts and then called another Lyft for a ride back to The Cromwell. The driver was originally from Chicago, accent and all, and we had a lively conversation about all things Vegas.

I grabbed an energy drink (it seems all Starbucks near The Cromwell close at 7 p.m.) — that’s not the Vegas I remember — and loaded another $50 FSP into a VIP (Golden 7’s) slot machine. On the first spin I won $20 - which surprised me because the win did not register for a few seconds after the reels stopped. Armed with this new information, I spun again and won $24. I then went a few spins without a win when I hit for another $47. Thereafter, nothing. So, I won a total of $91 on $50 FSP.

Trip is +$2364

Mu plan this evening was to grab some dinner and play some blackjack and slots - however, that was not to come to fruition as I ran into my host and she was hanging out with some other players of hers and they all invited me to hang out. Six hours later and the night was over - although I did get to meet some very cool people and have a great time.

Sweet dreams everyone. Stay tuned tomorrow.
