Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Herein, I document my adventures in various casinos. Hope you have a nice stay!

Vegas October 2020 Day 5

Upon waking, I was thinking back to last night’s dinner and remembered that my host was telling everyone how she attempted to watch the movie “Uncut Gems” and it gave her such anxiety that she had to stop watching it. Of course, all the others at the table being gamblers informed her that she now knows how we fell when playing - she replied “How do you deal with that?” — which elicited much laughter from the table.

I headed downstairs for an iced coffee and made my way over to the Bellagio to check out the conservatory’s autumn topiary and floral display.

After a walk through the Bellagio I headed down to TI as they were offering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at -12 ½ against my Giants. The Giants season is lost at this point and, if they keep losing, the owners might actually realize they need to fire the GM.

I sent a text message to Mr. Ocean to inquire if he knew where the Texas Tea slot machine was located at TI. I decided that, while I was there placing my sports bet, that I would pay homage to Pennys4Vegas by sitting down and playing Texas Tea — here is how it went down:

There went $1. After such an amazing experience, I walked back to The Cromwell.

Live thoughts during Monday Night Football:

Naturally, Tom Brady picked this Monday Night Football game to miss every receiver by a yard while the Giants picked this game to actually score in the red zone.

I definitely have to be one of the worst sports bettors of all time.

I was thinking that this could be a classic “trap” game for the Bucs as they play the Saints next week but I assumed the Giants were bad enough to counter that notion.

Instead, the Giants look as if they are in the playoff hunt rather than merely a one win team. The sports betting gods love to laugh at my expense.

At this point, even if the Bucs win, there is no way they will cover the 12 ½ points - one good thing about that is I will not have to walk back to TI after this game to collect any winnings.

As a fan of the Giants, a win helps continue to move Dave Gettelman (the GM) slightly off the proverbial hot seat - that is not something I am happy about.

Buc’s coach with horrible clock management at the end of the half - delayed about 8 seconds before calling a timeout - also, they could’ve went on on 4th and 1 and, if they made it, called a time out and still had enough time to take two shots at the end zone.

HALFTIME

Can the Bucs actually get their offense going in the second half?

Ughhh Bruce Arians seems to play by the book - 4th and 3 he should’ve went for it - of course, I am looking through the lens of having cash on the game.

There was no reason for the Bucs to go for two points there — ughhh! I can already see the Bucs winning by 12 and that decision costing me the win.

I started chatting with a Canadian fellow here at the sports book - he is in town for 6 months. WOW!

I will reiterate that I am the worst sports bettor of all time.

A surprise text message from KenoKid to tell me I should’ve bought the cherry vanilla BANG! energy drink flavor. But, considering the number the creative in it did on my stomach, I think it’s a safe bet I will not purchase another BANG! energy drink — although, with my betting luck…lol

OK — the Bucs got the field goal — now they need a Pick 6 and I can cash my bet — although that is highly highly improbable.

Well, it was a good game and kept me busy for a few hours.

End of football thoughts

After freshening up a bit in the room I ventured back down to the casino floor to play some blackjack at $25 double deck game — I played about 4 shuffles and picked up the $200 I lost on the football bet.

I wanted to go to Off The Strip for a late dinner so I made my way through Flamingo to The Linq promenade.

Although the door was open to Off The Strip, the greeter informed me that they were in the process of closing shop for the night. As such, I walked a few doors down to Virgil’s BBQ and ordered a BBQ burger.

Feeling fully satiated, I headed back to The Cromwell by way of the Flamingo, stopping to buy a piece of red velvet cake to has as a late night dessert while relaxing in the room.

As the sun sets on another Vegas trip, I want to thank you all for joining me on this roller coaster ride and, until next time, keep wearing shiny shoes.
